FANG ISLAND
With the wave of positive indie-pop edging its way into the mainstream, Fang Island presents a uniquely progressive and guitar-based take on the genre. Their layers of riffs can seem daunting at first, but their sound begs repeated listening and the intricacies behind the wall of awesome reveal themselves over time. Stereogum called their jam “The Absolute Place” a “triumphant, heavily riffed, primarily instrumental epic, whiplashing through six minutes of smiling prog jams, and as many tempos as passages, before settling into one last minute of uplifting chants.”

ANAMANAGUCHI
What would Voltron dance to? Anamanaguchi have frenetic drums and deft guitars, but the centerpiece of their sound is a hacked NES, which they use to emanate dense arrangemens of 8-bit insanity.  A harbinger of the unholy alliance between dancefloors warriors and MMORPG warlocks, their live set is an exhuberant experience never to be missed or forgotten.

ALEISTER X

The first artist to be released on Andrew W.K.’s boutique Skyscraper Music Maker label, the enigma that is Aleister X is the materialization of an electroclash specter. Unpredictable and at times unintelligible, his cockney-saturated chatting is as convincing as it is confusing and his blistering guitar work only adds to the mystery. Wherever he came from, he was meant to rock dance floors.

CHERIE LILY
Cherie Lily’s sound encompasses rock, electro, folk, classical, punk and opera. She is currently spearheading a genre called Houserobics that combines physical conditioning with the sound and exhilaration of nightlife. She is also known for her stint as guitarist and singer for the indie rock group FluRT.

BAD BRILLIANCE
The street tough electro beats of Bad Brilliance are the perfect juxtaposition to his psychedelic stage presence. The visual elements to his bass-quaking tunes are mind-expanding performance pieces that often require audience participation and mock corporate aesthetics.

And who would be right to host and DJ this night of ecstasy and mystery? Who else but perhaps the most ecstatic and mysterious person in pop music, Andrew W.K.!
